African Safari: The Lion Feast

After a normal start to our morning game drive, we got a call on the radio that one of the guides had found a lion kill about 20 kilometers away. We raced up to find it, and arrived just as the lions were finishing up their meal and the vultures swooped in to finish it off. Lions do not typically go after elephants, so our guides suggested that it was likely injured or already dead when the lions got it. After brunch in the river, we ended the day with a leopard sighting on our night game drive.
